AprilAire 501 Pleated Filter Media MERV 10

The AprilAire 501 MERV 10 (see below) air filter was designed and manufactured in the U.S.A. by AprilAire – the leader in indoor air quality solutions, to maximize the performance of your AprilAire air purifier. Fits models: 5000. Filter dimensions are 16" H x 25" L x 6" D.

The AprilAire 501 prevents airborne allergens from circulating through the air in your home by trapping common airborne allergens as they pass through the 13 filter including dust, and mold spores. The equivalent MERV rating is 15 when installed with the AprilAire 5000 air cleaner. 

• Captures up to 90% virus-sized airborne particles 0.3 – 1.0 microns passing through the filter, including airborne particulates associated with tobacco smoke and smog.

MERV means Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value, it is a number assigned to a filter based on its minimum tested efficiency data at a known test condition. The higher the MERV rating the higher the efficiency the filter media is at catching smaller particles in the air.
